Nokia reports Q1 2010 financials; solid numbers and slight OS delay
Nokia released their Q1 2010 financial report today and the year-on-year comparison shows improvements almost across the board while the quarter-on-quarter changes are mostly down across the board. Analysists were expecting a larger increase in profits and a better report even though Nokia continues to dominate the worldwide smartphone market with 41% market share, up 3% from 2009 and 1% from last quarter. Ovi Maps has been downloaded an amazing 10 million times and is a bright spot of the report, along with successes in the Ovi Store with 1.7 million downloads per day (this is quite staggering IMHO). Unfortunately, Symbian^3 devices are seeing a slight delay with an expected release of the first such device planned for third quarter of 2010
