Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone Review

Smartphones using the Android operating system have become increasingly popular today. One of the newest Android smartphones today is the Samsung Galaxy S. Many are even heralding this smartphone release as Android’s competitor for Apple’s iPhone.
Many people are instantly attracted to the appearance of the Samsung Galaxy S. It is comprised of glossy black plastic and metallic looking bezel. The Samsung Galaxy S is rather lightweight making it appealing to those wanting something easy to carry around. The handset is also thin measuring 122.4 x 64.2 x 9.9 mm. The Galaxy S weighs in at only 119 grams. The handset includes very few hardware controls; on the left side of the device, a volume rocker is found and on the right side of the device one can find a power and standby key. Under the screen a home button can easily be accessed. On opposite sides of the home button you can find a menu button and back button. If the menu button is depressed for a longer time, then a search function is brought up on the Galaxy S.
The hardware comprising the Samsung Galaxy S is a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor. You have two options in regard to storage on the device. The Galaxy S comes as either a 8GB or 16GB unit. If you opt for the 8GB model, only 2 GB of this has been partitioned for storage of applications. The remaining 6 GB has been partitioned for media. A microSD slot has been included. This permits you to increase space up to 32 GB.
Two cameras come with the Samsung Galaxy S. One is located on the back of the camera featuring 5 megapixels. The second camera comes in the front of the phone. This is for the purpose of placing video calls. One thing this camera seems to be missing is a flash.
Perhaps one of the most enticing aspects of the Galaxy S is the use of Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology. The size of the screen display has increased to 4 inches with a resolution of 800 x 480. Colours are brilliant when viewed on this display, the brightness can be adjusted and this makes the Galaxy S work well when used outdoors in brighter light. The Samsung galaxy s is now available at a number of outlets including dialaphone.co.uk
